What are the basic requirements for scaffolding?
 
*Every scaffolding structure must be planned and constructed by a certified engineer.
*Every scaffolding structure must undergo inspection by a qualified engineer before it is used, and at least once every two weeks while in use.
*Every scaffolding structure must be assembled by a qualified scaffolder.
*Every scaffolding structure must be securely fastened to the ground or a suitable structure at all times.
*Every scaffolding structure must have a proper handrail and toe-board in place to prevent workers from falling.
*Every scaffolding structure must have a suitable access ladder or stairway to ensure safe entry and exit for workers.
*Only workers who have received training in the safe usage of scaffolding should be permitted on the structure.
